Enercon History
Enercon was established in 2004 by Kees Brinkman as an energy and utility consultancy to add value to industrial, institutional and commercial businesses through managing and reducing utility costs. At the time of the company’s inception, this was seen as an area in the NZ market of which there was little development. This sector of the ecomomy has now become of considerable importance with rising energy costs and environmental concerns. Enercon is based in Christchurch but has also worked nationally on various sites around the country.
From humble beginnings in the home of Kees Brinkman, Enercon’s technical skill and innovative solutions have resulted in significant company growth. Enercon is now currently situated in their newly owned offices which were designed to be energy efficient by our own staff. It has also grown on average by one engineer per year so that Enercon now employs six full time engineers. Enercon has developed close working relationships with a number of consultants to offer additional specific expertise when needed. All our employees are members of IPENZ and/or other professional engineering institutions and the three shareholders have a total of 45 years experience in the energy industry.
Enercon’s staff development programme has resulted in three Accredited Energy Auditors, the industry recognised standard which allows government funding to subside Energy Auditing work performed by Enercon.
